Spoon River NAVHDA Chapter

My older brother and I going down to Jim Edgar the friday after thanksgiving and I was wondering how the controlled pheasant hunt works, this will be my first time. I got on the dnr website but it wasn't very help full. I already have a permit for two people, do I still need to check in? Do they assign us what field we hunt? I was looking at the map and it looks like a pretty neat area. Has anyone ever hunted there before? Any words of wisdom on what area is best? Thanks!

call first and get the low down.  You definitely have to be there for the draw in the morning.  You pick the field in order you are drawn.
