I wanted to start a discussion on when/where we should host our annual meeting this year? My idea is to have a tower shoot sometime in late winter and then hunt the clean up birds with our dogs. I've never done one and it looks/sounds like a blast. Oakridge is willing to host if we can get enough people. Cost will be somewhere around 50$ a shooter. Like/dislike? Other ideas?

The one thing I would suggest is if it would get more people from further east and further south to the meeting, I'd suggest maybe moving more towards central IL. Bloomington, Lincoln, or something like that.

Alright. Terry says pick a date! We better pick a date then! Anyone that missed out on last years Chapter meeting and fun hunt should really try to make it this year. It was a good turnout and lots of fun. Well,......other than the fact that D.J. brought some new kid named Jon Barth in that out-shot me by one target and won first place in the tournament. Folks, you can put your money on me this year. I will outshoot anyone Shae and D.J. tries to sneek in. Im sure they are scouting the skeet leauges right now trying to find competition to put me out. If there are dates in February, March, that work best for anyone, let us know. If nobody on this site has a recomendation for possible dates, I suggest that the officers communicate via e-mail and set it within the next 10 days. Check into the website and e-mails for details.

The date has been set for Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Oakridge Hunt Club near Mackinaw, IL. We will have one round of sporting clays and lunch for approximately $35 each. Our annual meeting will immediately follow. If you'd rather hunt, feel free to contact Oakridge to schedule a morning or afternoon hunt. Please send an email to me directly to let me know if you're attending this year: slbirk@gmail.com. Contact Dewey at Oakrdige for hunting reservations at: 309-359-8588. Feel free to bring friends and family and stay for all or part of this day's events. Bring someone new that is also a hunting dog owner and introduce them to our world! This event sets the pace for our new year so please plan on attending and letting your voice be heard! We will discuss the following: test dates and venues, training dates and venues, upcoming youth and NWTF Wheelin Sportsman hunt events, Invitational, and other planned events. We need your input!
